POSITION IN ORGANISATION
Reports To: Directly to the General Manager and Managing Director

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB
The role of Purchasing Team Leader is to plan and execute product purchasing spend across the organisation and their responsible categories. This include acquiring products within budget and facilitating communication between all departments of the organisation and its providers in order to deliver products and services according to plan. Purchasing Team Leader will also define the objectives of products and services in order to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement best practise purchasing model and standardise across all categories.

• Own & prepare the S&OP demand review, continuously developing and improving the business process.

• Develop the purchasing strategy for each category.

• Identify new suppliers and products, whilst negotiating best price/service with all suppliers.

• Lead, coach and develop the Non-Korean purchasing team.

• Drive improvements in forecast accuracy, customer service and inventory level.

• Maximise SKU contribution per category.

• Develop and enhance the purchasing team technical skills and competencies in the team, through assessing and identifying any knowledge gaps and running relevant development courses.

• Grow category sales & margin whilst reducing wastage.

• Take full ownership for purchasing budgets set by the company.
  

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Possess the willingness to learn, improve and adapt

• Excellent written and verbal skills, IT literate with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and SAP B1

• Able to work to deadlines and prioritise workload according to given time scales with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to work on own initiative, plan and manage own work load, and to allocate and manage teams work load to deliver effective services.

• Ability to perform complex calculations and ability to apportion costs to different budget headings.

• Logical thinker with appropriate negotiation skills

• Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and establish priorities within a small team

• Business fluent in English and Mandarin
