YC Global Buffet (YOUNG CAFETERIA LIMITED, Company register in England and Wales, Company No. 10773632) is one of a kind, located near to Swindon Railway station and town centre. We are a buffet restaurant that puts emphasis on great ingredients being freshly prepared using authentic recipes from the East to the West. Customers would be enjoying a gastronomic journey from the Chinese country market food vendors to the fishing villages of Thailand, by jumping onto a boat of floating market in Vietnam and drifting to the exotic islands of Malaysia and then on to India. YC Global Buffet offers a range of global dishes, featuring Indian, Chinese, Thai and Japanese. Customers will be able to watch our chefs prepare dishes at the live cooking stations and enjoy a mouth-watering all-you-can-eat buffet selection for one set price.

We are now looking to hire a full-time Sushi Chef. The ideal candidate should have experience in preparing Japanese cuisine. Candidates should be entitled to live and work in the UK, or can meet UK working visa requirements. We are willing to sponsor the suitable candidate for a UK working visa where needed.

Job title:  Sushi Chef

Work Location: Linden Court, Holbrook Way, Swindon SN1 1BE

Duties of the post:   

• Plan, prep, set-up and provide      high quality service in all areas of sushi production

• Prepare all types of sushi      including nigiri, sashimi, & handrolls

• Follow strictly the      restaurant’s Food Hygiene and Health and Safety procedures

• Interact positively with      customers promoting a friendly and enthusiastic attitude when preparing      sushi dishes at the      live cooking stations if needed

• Make suggestions to the head      chef and restaurant manager in order to improve our existing menu from      time to time and keep sushi making skills up to date

Salary: GBP 20,000-27,000 per year depending on experience

Skill, experience and qualifications:

•       Have at least 3 year experience within a sushi food operation

•       Have a thorough knowledge of Sushi cuisine and Japanese culture

•       Strong motivational and people skills

•       Have excellent knife skills

•       Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with team spirits

•       Be able to engage with customers and build friendly rapport at the live cooking stations

•       Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
