Bookkeeper

Location – Chester

Salary – Start from £18,000 for the 6 months, after a change to permanent the salary will be between £20,000 and £23,000 for the first 2 years basing on the experience. 

-        28 days annual holiday

Working hours - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (30-minute lunch)

Essential Requirements

Graduate in accounting and finance, AAT qualified and ACCA qualified are preferred

Proven bookkeeping experience with practice for a minimum of 3 years

Strong Word and Microsoft Excel skills

Excellent interpersonal relationship skills

Fluent Mandarin and English speaking are compulsory and Cantonese speaking is a bonus

Responsibilities and requirements of the bookkeeper will include:

• Accurate preparation of monthly/quarterly VAT Returns for sole-trader/partnership/Limited Company clients using Xero/QuickBooks online software packages.

• Have the ability to review and amend bookkeeping entries

• Up-to-date knowledge of VAT rules is required

• Preparation of bank reconciliations

• Be able to review a Trial Balance and highlight any areas for further review

• Liaising with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries

• Liaising with HMRC and Companies House

• Preparation of annual accounts for sole-trader/partnership/Limited Company clients accurately evidencing all Balance Sheet items

• Dealing with day-to-day client queries

• Knowledge of CIS and how this interacts with the bookkeeping process
