Hiring Imports Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic Chinese speaking individual with a strong imports and administration background to join our Head Office on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have strong organisation skills, strong interpersonal skills and be able to multi-task in a busy Imports office environment.

• Contract:               Full time, Permanent

• No. of vacancies: 1

• Salary:                   £20,000 - £22,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role

As an Imports Assistant, you will work closely with the Imports team and our stores, assist with processing order and shipments in timely manner, handling customs and declaration paperwork, maintaining the EPOS (Electronic Point of Sales) system, and support the Imports team when needed.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Liaise and negotiate competitive rates with overseas suppliers

• Process store orders and arrange shipments with suppliers

• Prepare and complete all shipments associated paperwork for Customs and legal process

• Regularly review and maintain existing product information, price comparisons, and any other imports related tasks using Microsoft Excel

• Receive and respond to emails using Microsoft Outlook

• Carry out daily ad hoc duties such as data entry and maintenance of filing systems

• Support other departments when required

• Undertake any other reasonable tasks, as required by senior management

Requirements:

• Previous experience in Imports is desirable

• Ability to speak Mandarin / Cantonese is essential

• Good understanding of MS Excel – namely VLOOKUP, formulas, and Pivot Table

• Attention to details and excellent time management skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as a team

• Ability to prioritise and multi-task when needed

• Must have the legal right to work in the UK (without sponsorship)
